Internationally known journalist and lecturer; author of 20 best-selling books including ‘English Country Gardens’, ‘Herb Garden Design’, ‘The Gardens of Tuscany’, and ‘Autumn Gardens’, and the literary-award-winning ‘Art of the Kitchen Garden’. Her most recent work, Infinity of Graces: Cecil Pinsent, an English Architect in the Italian Landscape, brings together 15 years of research in the life and work of a man who bridged the gap between 19th-century arts and crafts and 20th-century modernism in his work for the Anglo-American expatriate residents of early 20th-century Florence; with interviews from Pinsent’s family, friends and those who worked with him.
Professionally trained horticulturalist, Ethne holds a Master of Philosophy in Fine Art from De Montfort University, Leicester, England. Native of Chicago; lived in England for 30 years, establishing successful writing and editing career. Returned to USA in 1998 to Austin, Texas, working for House and Garden (Conde Nast), Traditional Home (Meredith) and as editor in chief of Organic Gardening (Rodale).
